guardian women in white

These women impress me more as guardians than 'lamentors', perhaps because their faces are shrouded and not shielded. Also the objects that they're holding- I think that the one on the right has coins, and the one on the left has a torch, although again, I don't know the symbolism.

The stone here is very striking- sharp white with the part under the hood almost completely black!
